{"id":223,"date":"2020-06-25T20:13:42","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/networktoendhunger.org\/site\/?p=223"},"modified":"2020-06-25T20:13:44","modified_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:13:44","slug":"alternate-breakfast-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/networktoendhunger.org\/site\/alternate-breakfast-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"Alternate Breakfast Expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chair: Caitlyn Peacock<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members:<br>Ace Padian, TBNTEH<br>Lynn Geist, Food Nutrition Services, Pinellas County SchoolsJudith Warren, Juvenile Welfare Board<br>Lori Matway, Associate Superintendent, Pinellas County Schools<br>Judith Warren, JWB<br>Lori Nelson, Florida Dairy Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/networktoendhunger.org\/pastworkteams\/#1496804103636-a0a30b18-0c1d\">Project Description:<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mission: to help end childhood hunger by increasing breakfast availability to all children in Pinellas County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Goal: to increase breakfast participation by implementing the alternate breakfast models in public schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Objective: implement alternate breakfast models in 4 schools during the 2016-2017 School Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Project Description: Using proven alternate breakfast models to increase breakfast participation for students on free and reduced lunches.\u00a0 Goal: to get breakfast participation to 70% of lunch participation for all participating schools. \u00a0Progress notes: TBNEH was able to secure funding for 4 breakfast carts. These carts will be purchased through the FNS Pinellas County Schools and the program will begin during Spring of 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/networktoendhunger.org\/pastworkteams\/#1496804103944-7fb0d058-5a7e\">Progress Notes<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alternative breakfast models help increase breakfast participation so students are able to eat before starting their school day, which in turn helps them learn.
