{"id":237,"date":"2020-06-25T20:19:53","date_gmt":"2020-06-25T20:19:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/networktoendhunger.org\/site\/?p=237"},"modified":"2023-09-09T20:28:15","modified_gmt":"2023-09-09T20:28:15","slug":"creating-a-regenerative-community-food-system-work-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/networktoendhunger.org\/site\/creating-a-regenerative-community-food-system-work-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating a Regenerative Community Food System Work Team"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose\/Mission Statement:<\/strong>&nbsp;The Creating a Regenerative Community Food System Work Team promotes collaboration among community members by reducing food waste in the waste management system while improving local communities.&nbsp;In order to prevent and divert wasted food from its associated impacts, multiple components of this Work Team will address aspects of the food system including the different layers of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/sustainable-management-food\/food-recovery-hierarchy\">Food Recovery Hierarchy<\/a>, recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Goal(s)<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>&nbsp;The goal of this Work Team is to work together to establish connections participants in our local food system. We aim to divert food surplus from the waste stream by facilitating edible food recovery and food scrap&nbsp;donation&nbsp;for composting which will help to grow more food locally.
