SNAP Work Team

Purpose/Mission Statement: The SNAP Work Team is working with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on part two of our research study to collect data on affordability, variety, and quality of SNAP approved foods at local retailers in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties.

Goal(s): 1) Complete a comprehensive data analysis on the availability, affordability, and healthfulness of food in the SNAP retail environment, to include an interactive map. 2) Create a suggested action plan to mitigate areas with low affordability, accessibility, and healthfulness scores.

Activities: Surveying SNAP retailers in tri-county area, recruiting volunteers to help survey, analyze data, complete write up to submit for publication and presentation. Recently completed all surveys in Pinellas County.
